Thank you so much for taking time to visit my blog!
My name is Tony Jao and I am:
- a Christian
- a husband
- a father
- a minister
- a runner
I started running in early 2011 when I got on this New Year’s Resolution kick to run a 5K. I signed up for one for that April but didn’t really train for it and did not finish well. Needless to say, I resigned to the fact that perhaps running wasn’t for me after all.
In May of the same year, after a challenging conversation with a co-worker who informed me that she was planning to run a marathon, I started reading a book entitled, “Marathoning for Mortals” simply for the structure of the training plans. I decided to train according to the “run-walk” half marathon training program…again, just for the structure of it. After following the plan a few weeks and getting up to 6 miles, I decided to register for a 10K scheduled in September. After getting up to 8 miles, I decided to go all out and register for a half marathon in October. After those races I registered for an 8K turkey trot on Thanksgiving! I was hooked! In 2012, I went on to run a 15K, two more half marathons, a full marathon! I even raised money for charities whose causes I believed in!
I intend to use this blog as a way to share my progress, my experiences, my thoughts, my emotions, my dreams, and my requests as it pertains to my desire to do the extraordinary!
Thanks for coming along on my journey!
In His Love,
